Will Friedle Biography

American comedy actor Will Friedle is best known for his role as Eric Matthews in the popular TV sit-com "Boy Meets World". He starred in the show for seven years (from 1993 to 2000). His character was a stereotypical teenage boy; mad about girls, and good looking but lacking in brain cells. His role as central character Eric, who never had any time for his younger brother Cory, catapulted the cute, floppy haired actor to pin-up star status.

Will, full name William Alan Friedle (pronounced 'Freh-dell'), started his acting career by staring in "A Doll's House" during the fifth grade. His role in this professional production opened up a wealth of acting opportunities for Will in television commercials, advertising Skittles and Nintendo products among others, as well as small roles in episodes of "True Blue" and "Law & Order", before winning his role in "Boy Meets World" which was a major milestone in his career and gave him his first taste of fame.

During his time on the show, he also featured in made-for-TV movies, including the 1994 tear-jearker "The Gift of Love", in which he played a grandson whose death makes his heart available for transplant to his grandfather, and 1996's "Educating Mom" in which he's humiliated when his mum returns to school with him. These won him over even more fans and helped boost his profile.

In 1997, Will began a two-year, high profile relationship with actress Jennifer Love Hewitt(making him the envy of every teenage boy in the country) – who he co-starred with in his movie debut "Trojan War", a teen romantic comedy which went straight to video. In the movie, Will gets arrested, beaten up and robbed just trying to get a condom, so he can spend the night with the girl of his dreams.

Since his role in "Boy Meets World", Will has provided voices for characters on animated television shows like Kim Possible (playing Ron Stoppable), Batman Beyond (as Terry McGinnis) and guest voiced a character for "Lilo & Stitch" - the TV series. He also provided a voice for a character in the recent movie "Chicken Little".

He's also featured in a few short-lived TV series; "Go Fish" (2001), "The Random Years" (2002) and "Regular Joe" (2003), before deciding to turn his back on family-aimed projects, with the racier comedy "National Lampoon's Gold Diggers" (2004), playing one of two men who marry elderly sisters in hope of getting their hands on their fortune and Beverly Hills estate.

But one of Will's projects have matched the success of his career-defining role in “Boy Meets World”.
