Lea acerca de Thomas Haden Church en Espa?ol

The tall, blond actor Thomas Haden Church went from playing the lovable yet intellectually clueless Lowell Mather on the NBC sitcom "Wings" to portraying bright young executive who makes a marriage of convenience on the Fox sitcom "Ned and Stacey," then scored a mid-career boost years later with his amusing portrayal of a randy bridegroom in "Sideways." Church moved to California after stints as a radio disc jockey and commercial voice-over actor for in Texas. He played a sociopath in the independent feature film "Stolen Moments" and then guest starred on "Cheers" as a skating penguin. The latter role led to his being cast on "Wings" in 1989. Despite the fact that the series had an additional two-year commitment from NBC, Church left "Wings" at the end of the 1995 season for the chance to star as the male lead opposite Debra Messingin the Fox sitcom "Ned and Stacey" (1995-1997), where he displayed excellent comedic timing and considerable charm given his character's frequently harsh demeanor. He has also broken into TV-movies, playing a Palm Springs detective in "Fugitive Nights: Danger in the Desert" (NBC, 1993); the same year he had a co-starring role in the feature "Tombstone". Other feature credits include playing 'Roach', an unpleasant boarder, in "Tales From the Crypt Presents Demon Knights" (1995) and the main villain in the live-action version of the cartoon "George of the Jungle" (1997), a role he reprised in the 2003 direct-to-video sequel. Church worked steadily in a series of B-movies, telepics, TV guest shots and straight-to-video or cable fare, with minor appearances in the occasional high-profile film like "3,000 Miles to Graceland" (2001), but in 2004 the actor got the opportunity to demonstrate his acting range when he was cast as Jack, the errant actor friend of wine connoisseur Miles (Paul Giamatti, in director Alexander Payne's critically hailed serio-comedy "Sideways." Church perfectly embodied the insecure, arrested adolescent who uses a pre-wedding road trip as an excuse to squeeze in some last minute philandering, then suddenly turns even more recklessly existential as he questions the future he's planned. Shooting new life into the actor’s career, the role earned him an Independent Spirit Award as Best Supporting Actor, along with nominations for at the Screen Actors Guild Awards (he shared a victory in the SAG ensemble category with his cast mates), Golden Globes and the Academy Awards. After voicing the character Brooks in the live-action/CGI-animated remake of "Charlotte's Web" (2006), Church was cast as one of the new nemesis in the highly anticipated sequel "Spider-Man 3" (2007), playing the villainous Flint Marko, who has the ability to transform his body into living sand as the Sandman. Meanwhile, Church had a strong costarring role in the period western “Broken Trail” (AMC, 2006), playing a cowboy who, along with his uncle (Robert Duvall, comes across five Chinese women kidnapped from the homes and sold into sexual freedom seeking safe haven from their captors. Church earned a Golden Globe Award nomination in 2006 for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television, then received a nod from the Screen Actors Guild for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries, setting the stage for a potential Emmy nomination later in 2007.
