Shauna Sand, born September 2, 1971 in San Diego, California, is an American television actress and model, most famous for her appearance as a Playboy Playmate. Starting at the age of five, Shauna studied ballet, jazz, and theater. In her Playmate Profile, she claims to have been very independent and highly motivated at an early age and being a straight A student. At 11, she enrolled in The School of Creative and Performing Arts and by 13 she received a dance scholarship with Ballet West in Aspen, Colorado. She admits to being shy and not having much time for a social life. Shauna began modeling at the age of nine after being approached by a local photographer. She signed with the Elite/Petite agency in New York at the age of 15. She took time off from modelling and went to Paris and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Business Administration from The American University of Paris and became fluent in French. Shauna submitted photos to Playboy's Los Angeles photo editors. She did a test shoot that Hugh Hefner approved and became the Playmate of the Month for May 1996. Sand was married to actor Lorenzo Lamasfrom April 27, 1996 until their divorce on October 8, 2002. They had three daughters together: Alexandra, Victoria, and Isabella. She also appeared in a few episodes of the TV show Renegade with Lamas.
