Los Angeles-based alt-metal band August formed in late 1997 and within months had recorded their debut album and were on tour with Korn. Comprising vocalist Jay Gordon, guitarist Ryan Shuck, synth-guitairist Amir Derakh, bassist Paige Haley and drummer Bobby Hewitt, the band holed themselves up in a cabin at Lake Tahoe to record their debut album, Candyass.
