Orgy Biography
Plus, band members Jay Gordon, Amir Derakh, Ryan Shuck, Paige Haley and Bobby Hewitt look the part of a wicked rock band, with multicolored hair, heavy gothic makeup and fashion directly off a Paris runway.
It all started in California only six months before their first album was released. The 5 person band decided to record their album right away rather then get burned out playing clubs every night for their friends. They found that to be pointless, although the group's look set them apart from other bands, their style was also unique and something new to the ears of Korn's Jonathan Davis. Orgy was the first band to sign to Korn's label, Elementree Records. As if the shock of being signed within six months wasn't enough, Orgy was brought onto the Family Values tour. This gave Orgy a taste of something they had never had before, mainstream exposure. The bands popularity grew, well known for their cover of Blue Monday. The band was getting more popular by the day.
Orgy released their first album, Candyass. The album containing a new style of music, fresh to the ears of any listener. "It's pretty much just all bullshit," says Jay. "We conjured up a bunch of lies and fairy tales." The record was recorded in Tahoe, and after many long days and longer nights the record was done. A true work of what Orgy was capable of, only after six short months of playing together. Ryan, the co-writer of Korn's hit song Blind says, "It's kind of like death pop. Our songs are all just slightly deranged, but I can definitely hear them on the radio. Don't look for any more meaning than that."
The unique style of music and clothing keep Orgy one step ahead of the pack, always there with something unexpected to keep fans waiting to see what they can come up with next. And we can only wait to see what Orgy has in store for their fans.
