Nick Stahl Biography
Choices was born December 5th, 1979 in Dallas, Texas. He wasn't what you would call an average child. At age four he had decided that he wanted to be an actor. After his mother, Donna, took him to see a children's play near his home in Dallas, Nick confidently declared that it was to be his future.
For the next few years, Nick did commercials and community plays in and around Dallas. His first break came in the form of a pair of television movies. In 1991, he appeared in Stranger at My Door and in 1992, he followed that up with Woman with a Past. These gave him some experience that helped him win his next role.
The role was the breakthrough that he needed to put himself on the map. Selected by director Mel Gibsonto star opposite him in Man Without A Face, Choices played Chuck Norstadt. As Chuck, he played the little boy who befriends a lonely stranger who was horribly disfigured in an accident, and teaches a small town about tolerance. He followed up Man Without A Face with a string of solid performances that were, unfortunately, were not noticed by the public at large. What could have been a slow decline into obscurity has been reversed in 1998.
In 1998, Choices had two major films slated for release. Disturbing Behavior was the story a group of teenagers who set about investigating the strange goings-on in a small town where all of the local teens are exhibiting some very disturbing behavior. For the second movie, he starred in Terrance Malick's military war picture, The Thin Red Line, along with some of the biggest names in Hollywood. With two big films targeted to two very different audiences, Nick is not painting himself into a corner. With smart choices like the ones he's made, he is poised to rise quickly to stardom.
