Nate Parker is an American actor who was nominated for a 2008 Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for playing the role of Henry Lowe in The Great Debaters (2007). For this film, he read the works of James Joyce, D.H. Lawrence, and W.B. Yeats -- books which he never picked up prior to the movie. For his role as orator Henry Lowe, Nate worked hard and even wrote a 100-page journal on his character.

His other film credits include Cruel World (2005) and Rome & Jewel(2006).

Apart from his acting work, Nate has been involved in charity work for kids. He helps out with Peace for Kids, an after-school program which allow kids to enjoy fun activities and to learn how to manage their money. He has also started a branch of that group which aims to raise a college fund for financially-challenged kids. He is a wrestling coach to 10-, 11-, and 12-year-old kids. He also helps out in coaching at Rosemead High School and Rio Hondo College.

Nate majored in computer programming at the University of Oklahoma. He attributes his work ethics from his experience as a wrestling champion during high school and college.
