Björlin was born in Newport, Rhode Island, but lived in Sweden until the age of 7. Her father was the Swedish composer and conductor Ulf Björlin (1933-1993). Her mother, Fary, whose background is Persian, is an interior decorator. Nadia speaks Swedish, Persian, English and can sing in other languages as well. She is also renowned for her soprano voice.
