The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 is a 2009 American action film directed by Tony Scott, and starring Denzel Washington and John Travolta. Armed men hijack a New York City Subway 6 train, holding the passengers hostage in return for a ransom of 10 million dollars, and turning an ordinary day's work for subway dispatcher and chief detective, Walter Garber (Denzel Washington) into a face-off with the mastermind behind the crime, Bernard Ryder (John Travolta).
