Often called "the Beatles' shadow," Mal Evans was the band's tour manager and roadie; he also remained their friend from the time he discovered them at the Cavern in 1962 until long after the band's dissolution. Fans might remember him as the lost Channel swimmer in HELP! and he also played backup on many of the Beatles' recordings. During his travels with the group, Mal collected a large amount of silent footage, which sold at Sotheby's for an astronomical price before being collected here for home viewing. Included is footage that Mal shot while on safari in Africa with Paul McCartney in 1966, as well as some shot in Los Angeles, Colorado, and Portugal. The footage is completely unedited and remains silent, appearing in its original form.
