Memarie Biography

Louisiana born and raised singer-songwriter Memarie recorded her first song in a Mississippi music studio when she was just nine-years-old. The experience confirmed to her that music was what she wanted to do with the rest of her life.

When Memarie was 12-years-old, she and the rest of her family relocated to Nashville to make country music. Here the younger singer developed her skills as an entertainer by singing and dancing with a vocal group called the Pony Express. As part of the group, Memarie's talents were noticed and she was chosen as one of Tennessee's top singers and was giving the opportunity to travel to New York City to perform at the famous Carnegie Hall under the top conductor, John Rutter. This made Memarie even more committed to becoming a professional singer, and when she graduated from high school she took more steps that would bring her a closer to reaching her dreams.

Landing a staff writer position at Cupit Music was the first step, here she went on to write many tracks including "He'll Never Be a Lawyer" recorded by Ken Mellons with special guests George Jonesand John Anderson.

Her success as a songwriter caught the attention of new Nashville label, HotSong, com Records, so signed Memarie. She began recording her self-titled debut album with the producer Jerry Cupit.

Memarie's powerful, unique vocals, and heart-felt songs won over many country music fans, which is proved by the fact that her debut single “What If He's Right” was chosen as the number one song in the Christian Country market. She was now a million miles away from her first music steps, singing into a magnolia blossom as a microphone to her grandparents back in rural Louisiana.

She also enjoyed success with the 2004 single "Leave Me Alone", which she co-wrote with fellow songwriter Jamie Whiting. It was well-received with the song and its video on heavy rotation, even reaching 45 on the R&R Indicator.

Memarie also performed many songs sponsored by Coca Cola and has supported acts like Aaron Tippin, Josh Turner, Blue County and Pin Monkey on tour. The talented singer has spoken about her live shows, saying: "My most rewarding times are when I am on stage performing. That's where I feel most at home."
