Soon she had a lot of practical experience - numerous appearances singing "The Star Spangled Banner" at local sporting events earned her the nickname "The National Anthem Girl." At age 15 she was signed to Sony's 550 Music imprint, who released her debut album, So Real, in 1999. The follow-up, I Wanna Be With You was released in May 2000.
