Laurel Holloman, actress, was born on May 23rd, 1971, into the politically liberal town of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Laurel is the youngest of her clan, and was very shy until she began acting in her late teens. Laurel went to College for a year, before moving to Chicago. There, Laurel worked at the Piven Theatre Workshop, and studying at the British American Dramatic Academy. It was at this point in her life that Laurel decided to be a full-time actress. Laurel studied with John Lynn in L.A., and then was in David Orr's independent film Blossom Time. In 1994, Laurel moved to NYC, and began acting off-Broadway, for productions such as 'Equus', 'Night Swim', and 'The Heartis a Lonely Hunter'. Laurel's first film break came in 1995, playing Randy Dean in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love. In just eleven short years, Laurel has been featured in over twenty-five films. From 2001 to 2002, Laurel played the re-occuring role of Justine on Angel, seeking solace in vengeance, for the demise of her twin sister. In 2004, Laurel took on the role of Tina Kennard, on the television show The L Word. Laurel Holloman married production designer Paul Macherey in July of 2002. Laurel's daughter Lola was born in November of 2004. Laurel Holloman currently stars in Showtime's The L Word (2007).
