Joy Lauren is a smart and energetic 17-year-old. Polar opposite in real life to her character of "Danielle Van De Kamp" , her nick name is "Joyful". Always bringing fun, exciting energy to those around her. She is an actress dedicated to her art. She trains regularly and is always seeking new ways to advance herself as an actress as well as a person. She is dedicated to learning new things and expanding her mind.

Like every good Georgia peach, Joy is more than proud of her home town of Atlanta Georgia. It was at the age of seven that Joy first realized she wanted more than most girls her age. She was going to be an actress! Everything started in motion when she would perform at the Alliance Theater in Atlanta. She would light up the stage with every performance. At the age of eleven Joy moved out to Los Angeles with her mother, Nan Jorgensen, to peruse her love of acting.

Not only has Joy been a series regular on Desperate HouseWives from the start. But you may have seen her on other hit shows such as "Shark" and in the two part special of "The Closer". Joy has also appeared on shows such as "Still Standing" and "The Division".

Joy has many other passions, one of which is for dance. When she was younger she performed with the Atlanta Dance Company. Every chance she has, she is in a dance class. There is also a love for horses, Joy began riding when she was thirteen. Though she did not waste any time becoming one of the best students her trainer has ever had. Each time she's on her horse they make a new connection, and bring her riding to a new level. Although Joy enjoys competing in shows there is little time. She spends as much time as she can pleasure riding and taking care of her American Saddlebred, Flashy. Her love for horses has turned into a general love for animals and Joy is a proud owner of a pet chicken that she rescued as an abandoned chick that she found in her horses stall, she lovingly calls it Hercules.(not knowing at the time that Hercules would be a girl!)

On top of being talented and caring Joy is also very intelligent and graduated from high school at the age of 14. Joy is continuing her studies in preparation for college, and just a love for knowledge! She always has some sort of book in her hands, from "Harry Potter" to "Gone with Wind" to "The DeVinci Code". Joy is always expanding her mind with her love for reading.

oy is devoted to her friends and family and every chance she gets she spends time with them.
