Seinfeld's first big break was on a Rodney Dangerfield special on HBO in 1976. He honed his craft while appearing at the famed The Comic Strip in New York City. In 1981, his career got a further boost when he appeared on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Appearances on other talk shows followed, as well as a recurring guest role on the sitcom Benson. In 1990, he teamed up with fellow comedian Larry David to create the show that would become Seinfeld.
