Drake Bell may be a successful actor and musician, but it was being involved in a near-fatal car crash which brought him the most press coverage. He was seriously injured in the accident which left him with a fractured neck, broken jaw, several knocked out teeth and cuts requiring 70 stitches, and meant his TV projects had to be postponed while he recovered.

On screen, Drake – birth name Jared Drake Bell – is best known for his Nickelodeon TV shows "Drake & Josh" and "The Amanda Show". In "Drake & Josh" he stars as popular teen Drake Parker, alongside Josh Peckwho plays his geeky step-brother, who he also starred with on The Amanda Show.

Singer, songwriter and guitarist also performs the title song to the "Drake & Josh" show, “I Found A Way” which appears on a soundtrack album to the hit show. He also released his debut album, "Telegraph", in September 2005. His first hit single "Down We Fall", was available on the "Drake and Josh" soundtrack. Drake says the album's sound was influenced by artists like: the Beatles, the Clash, Elvis Costello, the Ramones, and David Gray. When Drake starred in the TV movie "Chasing Destiny" he got the experience of a lifetime, guitar lessons from one of his musical heroes, Roger Daltrey from The Who, who also featured in the film. Drake has his own record label, Backhouse Records, and has performed live shows in packed venues in support of his album. He loves singing live as "getting the immediate reaction from the crowd is great."

As well as "Chasing Destiny", Drake has also acted in many other films and made-for-TV movies. These include: Tom Cruise blockbuster "Jerry Maguire", "Yours, Mine & Ours" (which also starred Dennis Quaid and Renee Russo), and comedy "Dill Scallion". As well as John Cusack-featuring western "The Jack Bull", for which he received a nomination for a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Movie or Pilot. A-List actor John Cusack was so impressed with his co-star Drake's performance in "The Jack Bull" that he chose him to play the young version of his character, Rob Gordon, in the movie "High Fidelity" which he co-produced.

Drake's all-round talents led "Teen People" magazine to name him one of the 20 teens most likely to change the world.

When he's not filming, recording or performing, you may find Drake watching his favorite moviea: "Happiness," "Snatch," "The Shawshank Redemption," "Detroit Rock City" and the original "Oceans 11". He also devotes much of his time to charity work. "I know that I am very fortunate and have many opportunities others do not have," the down-to-Earth star says. "I want to help those not as fortunate as me." Aww.
