Billie Joe is the youngest of six kids of a working-class family. His dad, was a jazz musician and a truck driver (he died when Billie was ten), his mom was a waitress at "Rod's Hickory Pit", where Billie and his first band "Sweet Children" performed their first show. He is the only member of "Green Day" who uses his real name, the other two members are switched their names to shorter nicknames (Mike Pritchard "Mike Dirnt" and Frank Edwin Wright III "Tré Cool").
