He spent the next few years bouncing from one club to another, including Nacional and Necaxa, until he was sidelined with a knee injury in 2002. After successfully undergoing surgery on his knee, Agustin played with Britain’s Southampton Football Club for a few years before finally returning to Barcelona SC in 2005. Agustin has picked up his fair share of trophies over the years, having won the title of Ecuadorian Champion in 1996 and 1997, and the title of Mexican Champion in 2001 and 2004. Additionally, Agustin is largely credited with the Ecuadorian national team’s presence at the 2006 World Cup, due to his scoring ability at the qualifying rounds.
